A meal you will never forget

This Dinner is very expensive, and we know that many people will not be able to attend the dinner that would like to attend. We are hoping to raise the money we need to keep our community meals free or $5 to attend with this very special dinner.

The dinner will be a fundraiser for Peaceful Belly's new non-profit arm polum bolum.  This dinner's fundraising efforts will go specifically to our Community Dinners.

The Community Meals are free to the public and focus on Children. We invite the public and their children to begin on the farm helping with the harvest. Then, the entire group of between 30 and 40 people squished into our kitchen and classroom, and we all begin to chop, stir, grate, and need, and together, we create a dinner.  At the end of the night, we sit at tables and all eat together.

It rocks.  It is fast, loud, messy, joyful and life giving.

This program was funded through a grant that was funded by the Federal Government IRA money. GUESS WHAT?  The funding has been cut.

A little more about the community dinners?

These dinners are super special.  Folks from all over the valley come together to cook a meal like a family and you feel like you are with family.  This event attracts families that are having financial difficulty.  It attacks a lot of single mothers and grandmothers raising children on their own.

The goals behind these dinners

  • get families in the kitchen together

  • introduce children to vegetables

  • inspire families to grow a garden and harvest and cook from it together

  • teach folks how to create meat-free meals that are amazing and that kids will eat

  • Build bridges between people who may feel divided.

  • Inclusivity

  • Allow the garden to heal
