Dirty Pot Ecoprinting with Lavender Stamper is a day-long workshop where you will learn the techniques for creating stunning prints on fabric using Lavender's special "dirty pot" technique! She will walk us through all the steps and you will leave with 2 scarves, one silk and one wool- one to keep and one to give away if you want! These scarves make amazing gifts!

More on the technique: The dirty pot creates long lasting prints, without the use of mined metals salts, making it one of the most eco friendly methods. In this process, tannin-rich leaves are bound tightly to cloth by rolling and wrapping with string. These are transferred to a dye pot that has been simmering away, full of awesome dye plants that color the dye liquid. The rolls are unfurled after a period of steaming, revealing the luscious prints directly on the fabric.

Details about the day: We will provide all the materials needed to enjoy learning these skills. We will also share a farm-fresh snack together as part of the experience. Please note that this is a fully outdoor experience, so please be prepared for that, though there is access to an indoor restroom!
